Winterton Beach on Kodak Gold 200

Recently, I spent a weekend in Norwich with one of my BFFs, Tanya, and some new faces. On the last day, we spent some time at Winterton Beach.

The images here were taken with my much under-used Rollei 35B and a roll of Kodak Gold 200. I’ve been mainly shooting experimental films recently and these remind me just how lovely a simple color film can be.

The moment we arrived we were greeted by sweeping wide coast, off shore wind turbines and grey seals bobbing about, curious to see what we were up to. The grasses in the dunes swayed in the breeze and I thought how much I’d love to visit again in May or June to see what flora springs up.

Winterton Beach is an unspoiled, dog-friendly sandy beach in Norfolk, England, located near the village of Winterton-on-Sea and backs onto the Winterton Dunes National Nature Reserve. It is famous for it’s wild coastal scenery and grey seal colonies, and boasts a lack of commercial amusement arcades.

Practical stuff: Parking is £1.50 per hour or £7 all day, when the Dunes cafe is closed the car park is run by Winterton Coastwatch and parking is by donation in the buckets at the entrance gates. There’s a really nice cafe on site and public toilets.
