A couple of weekends ago I organised an analogue photowalk at the Tall Trees Trail, here in the New Forest. I’ve been here many times before, and it’s one fo my favourite spots in the New Forest. You can see conifers planted in the 1850s as well as some of the oldest Douglas fir trees in Britain and includes views of two enormous redwoods. I’ve shot here on digital before with a fisheye lens but not on film - here’s how I got on.
I’m really glad I took this lens along, it’s a beaut. At a minimal of f4 it struggled with the shots where the light wasn’t at it’s best, mind you, I was also shooting on Pro Image 100 so that wouldn’t have helped matters. I’m really happy with the different angle on the fungi - there’s not been so many about this year sadly. I’ve seen plenty of shameless fungi pickers out and about this year, which always make me sad and though I’d love to confront them it doesn’t feel the safest thing to do in the middle of secluded forest.
