One of the things I love about blogging is how blog posts have the power to influence what other people do. From getting involved in supporting charities to trying out a new falafel recipe, at some point most of us have been swayed to physically do something by reading a blog. That's just what I'm doing today, inspired by the ever lovely Gemma from Hello it's Gemma. Slightly ironically it's about intentions for January. It wasn't Gemma's intention for her post to spark off me joining her in sharing my intentions but it just naturally happened. That's something I really love about blogging, the natural ripples that happen. Right, enough of my namby pamby blogging musings. Here's my intentions for January.
Read more. I have a pile of magazines that I've either bought or been sent by bloggers who think I might like them. I've flicked through them all but I want to read them, take time to chill out and enjoy them. I've just subscribed to another one, Taproot Magazine, seriously hop over and take a look and marvel at just how darn good (and refreshingly unpretentious) it looks. I would also recommend subscribing by email, my smile when I opened the email that pointed me in the direction of these beautiful free download gift tags by artist Phoebe Wahl was HUGE. And don't even get me started over how much of their online shop I want to buy.

I also have an ever-increasing stock of books. They say 'Don't judge a book by it's cover' but I blatantly do. Same with wine - it's all in the aesthetic.
Get organised. I've a sexy new diary, just for all things blogging. I am what I like to call 'terribly creative' which is what in reality is 'completely disorganised'. This year I already have far more commitments, work and plans then ever before and I really do feel like now is the time to plan properly - hence the diary. It's super gorgeous too which helps and very practical. I am liking how it's left pages has a week to view and the right pages have room for notes. I don't know about you, but I tend to get really stressed out and bogged down with thinking about just how much I have to do when actually all that I need to do is write a list and priorities. That's where this new diary will hopefully come into it's own.
It's a Mark's Yayoi Kusama B6 2014/15 diary and it ticks my love of all things Japanese box nicely. Designed by artist and writer Yayoi Kusama it's an unusual diary because it's incorporated into a zipped bag. Handily you don't have to unzip the bag to open the diary and you can storethings in the bag - business cards, pens, a mobile (which by the way be be operated through the cover).
Bake more. I have an oven for the first time in 6 years and it is heaven. I made jam tarts, I made mice pies, I made quiche. Yesterday I loved baking jam tarts with added strawberries, yup pop a whole strawberry into the top of each tart before baking and BOOM you have pure heaven in your mouth when they are done and you bite into that warm, juicy, sweet goodness.
