25. New Forest Wildlife Park
Brace yourselves for awesome cuteness...Are you ready? Ok, you may look... Harvest Mice!
This week's How Does your Garden Grow? has photos from the grounds of the New Forest Wildlife Park which is local to us. We headed for an afternoon out there this afternoon and this is what we found...Pretty flowers, now you know me well enough by now to know that I don't a clue what they all are so I'll freestyle and make names up... Below we have Purplingus Prettia *ahem*
Next up, it's Pinky-Dinky-Yellowy
Ok so maybe I'm not cut out for a horticultural career just yet. But there's more, we visited the Butterfly Garden and there were some very friendly ones flying about.
We even found some babies, much to Kittys interest.
Elsewhere in the grounds we found a bug hotel - Bug-ingham Palace (genius name yes?)
And finally one more Harvest Mousey photo, even though the connection to a garden is dubious, apologies for the picture quality, a plastic screen stood between us.
In my own garden this week not much has been happening. The lavender is coming to an end and with that the bee numbers dwindling. My mint has gone completely feral and ants have taken over the entire garden, much to my utter horror. In a moment of rare organisation, Papasaurus and I spent an afternoon this week chainsawing and splitting logs and stacking them in our now nearly full wood store. Even on a hot day that makes me daydream of cosy nights snuggled up in front of the fire!
There were a couple of late entries last week that may have been missed as I know many do their visiting on Thursday / Friday time so I've linked those back up to the start of this weeks. Spreading the sunshine and all that jazz. I do hope that everyone has been enjoying their gardens this week, hot sunshine here in the New Forest means more sorry looks grass. This year is flying by, I can barely believe that next week's linky will be a day after my youngest boy Ozzy starts school for the first time *dabs eyes with hanky*
